Pan con tomate + Patatas Bravas

Ingredients

  • 4 medium-sized potatoes

  • 2 cups olive oil 

  • Tomato

  • Smoked paprika

  • Pinch of salt

  • Loaf of bread (any kind)

  • 2 Tomatoes

  • Garlic

  • Olive oil

  • Pinch of salt

  • Other prefered toppings

Background

Pan con Tomate is a traditional Catalan tapas dish and is common in all parts of Spain. It directly translates to 'Bread with tomato'. This is paired with another common Spanish dish originating in Madrid - patatas bravas. This dish is centred around fried potatoes. Enjoy :)

Potato

Peel and cut the potato into 2cm cubes

Boiling

Boil the potato until tender.

Frying

Fry the potato on high heat until crispy

Assembly

Dry off potatowith sieve and plate with salt and sauce of choice

Toast bread

Rub with garlic

Tomato

Slice tomato in half. rub toast with tomato

Assembly

Drizzle olive oil over toast. Serve
